KONNWEI KDIAG Bluetooth OBD2 Full System Scanner – Oil Service, Battery Match, Live Data, I/M, DTC Lookup
Short Version – Quick Overview
KONNWEI KDIAG transforms your iPhone/Android device into a professional full system scanner for 40+ car brands. Via Bluetooth 4.0/5.0 and a 16-pin OBD connector, it reads/clears fault codes in all main systems (ECM/PCM, TCM, ABS, SRS/airbag, BCM, BMS, TPMS, SAS, A/C etc.), displays live data stream with graphs & recording, handles I/M readiness and freeze frame, and generates a shareable vehicle report. With Auto-VIN, the car model is automatically identified, and the app (free iOS/Android) includes a DTC lookup library, actuation tests, and service functions such as oil service/reset and battery matching (Battery Match).
KDIAG supports leading OBD protocols (CAN, KWP2000, ISO9141-2, UDS, SAE J1850) and works on most OBD2/EOBD cars from 1996+ (120+ variants globally). The app has a multilingual interface and lifetime free updates. Want to supplement with a handheld fault code reader? Explore our collection of fault code readers for more options.
Introduction – what KDIAG is and does
KONNWEI KDIAG is an advanced Bluetooth OBD2 scanner for full system diagnosis in modern cars. It not only scans the engine ECU but also accesses, for example, ABS, SRS/airbag, transmission (TCM), body control module (BCM), battery management (BMS), steering angle (SAS), TPMS, climate control and other control units – depending on the vehicle. In the app (iOS/Android), you get Auto-VIN, live data with graphs, DTC database and activation commands, as well as service resets such as oil service and battery matching. After diagnosis, a clear health report is generated that can be saved or shared (e.g., with a customer or colleague).
KDIAG supports standard protocols (ISO 14230-4 KWP2000, ISO 15765-4 CAN, ISO9141-2, ISO14229 UDS, SAE J1850 VPW/PWM) and works on OBD2/EOBD cars from 1996 onwards (see section Compatibility & Protocols). The compact adapter has a dust/shock-resistant design and is updated free of charge via the app.

Manual / Installation & User Guide (HTML)
1) Preparation
Download the free KDIAG+ app from the App Store/Google Play.
Check that the car has a 16-pin OBD2 port and that the ignition works.
Enable Bluetooth on your phone/tablet.
2) Connect the adapter
Insert KDIAG into the car's OBD2 port (usually under the dashboard near the driver's seat).
Turn on the ignition (ACC/ON) without starting the engine.
Open the app, select “Connect” & pair with the device (KDIAG). Follow any PIN dialog in the app/OS.
3) Auto-VIN & vehicle selection
Tap Auto-VIN for automatic identification. If VIN is not read – select make/model manually.
Confirm the correct model year/drivetrain for best system coverage.
4) Full system scanning
Select Full System Scan or the corresponding menu.
The app scans through available control units (ECU, TCM, ABS, SRS, BCM, TPMS, SAS, A/C etc.).
Once scanning is complete – open the list for DTCs, status and any freeze frames.
5) Live data & graphs
Go to Live Data, select system and parameters (PID).
Display as a table or graphs; start record for logging during a test drive.
Oil/Service Reset: follow the app's steps to reset the service indicator after an oil change.
Battery Match/Registration: for battery replacement – register a new battery in the BMS (requires car support).
Further reset/maintenance may be available per brand (e.g., EPB, SAS calibration etc.).
7) Actuation/Component Test
Open Actuation/Component Tests (if available for your car).
Start/stop a selected actuator (e.g., fan, pump, valve) according to safety instructions.
8) Report & sharing
Create a Vehicle Health Report after scanning.
Share the report (PDF/link) with a customer, colleague or save it in the service history.
9) Clearing fault codes
Address the root cause first. Then select Clear DTC in the respective system.
Perform a test drive and a new scan to confirm that the fault does not recur.
Examples & Use Cases
A) Check Engine Light & Inspection
Read DTC + freeze frame, review fuel trims and O2 sensors in Live Data, fix and check I/M Readiness before inspection.
B) Starting/Charging Issues
Read BMS/BCM codes, check battery registration (Battery Match), log voltage/current during start, monitor alternator load and voltage while driving.
C) ABS/ESP Warnings
Compare wheel speed sensors in graphs, locate faulty sensors, clear codes and test drive.
D) Comfort & Climate Control
Troubleshoot fan stages, flap motors, pressure sensors, and temperature probes. Activate components to confirm function.
Tips & Best Practices
Stable power: Ensure the car has good battery voltage during diagnosis. Use a trickle charger for long sessions.
Correct profile: If Auto-VIN fails – select the car model manually for full ECU access.
Always log before clearing: Save a report before clearing DTCs – valuable for intermittent faults.
Service functions: Follow the car's workshop procedure. Some resets require specific conditions.
Supplement your toolbox: For stationary diagnosis, a handheld reader can be convenient – see our fault code readers.
