OBD2 Fault Code Reader V520 – Diagnostic Tool with 2.8" Color Screen & Cloud Print
Short Version: The V520 OBD2 Scanner is an easy-to-use car fault code reader that quickly helps you read and clear engine-related fault codes (Check Engine) on vehicles with OBD2/EOBD. It is plug and play: just plug it into the car's OBD2 port, turn on the ignition, and start diagnosing immediately. The V520 supports 9 standard protocols (OBD II/EOBD) and can display important data such as live data (datastream), freeze frame (frozen fault data), I/M readiness (emissions/readiness), vehicle information, battery voltage, Mode 6 diagnostics, oxygen sensor test, and Mode 8 test functions. The clear 2.8-inch color screen allows you to see the results directly without a computer or app.
An extra smart feature is Cloud Print: after you read out fault codes, live data, or freeze frame, the V520 can create a QR code (two-dimensional code). Scan with your mobile phone to view the data on the screen, save the information, or share it with a mechanic or workshop. The V520 also has 10 languages (including English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Dutch, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese). Perfect for those who want to do a quick check at home, in the garage, or before buying a car – and get clear documentation to share.

Cloud Print – share diagnostic data via QR code
The Cloud Print function makes it easy to share diagnostic results. When the V520 has read out, for example, fault codes, datastream, or freeze frame, the device can create a QR code. By scanning the QR code with your mobile phone, diagnostic data will be displayed on the phone's screen. There you can:
- save the information for your own documentation
- show the documentation to a workshop or other mechanic
- share data with other troubleshooters/technicians
How to do it: When you are on the data you want to "print", press OK again to generate the QR code. Then scan the code with your mobile phone.

Compatibility (important to know)
- The V520 is designed for OBD2/EOBD and focuses on engine-related diagnostic functions.
- It works on cars that support OBD2 via any of the 9 protocols listed above.
- All functions (e.g., Mode 6/Mode 8, O2 test) may vary depending on car model, year, and control system.
Step-by-step: How to use the V520 (manual / installation guide)
1) Preparation
- Locate the car's OBD2 port (usually under the dashboard on the driver's side).
- Park the car safely and put it in park/neutral.
- Turn on the ignition (engine can be off if you only want to read codes; for live data, the engine may need to be running).
2) Connect the V520
- Insert the V520 into the OBD2 port.
- The device starts (plug and play) and establishes contact with the car if the protocol is supported.
3) Read fault codes
- Select the menu for Read Codes.
- The V520 displays stored fault codes (and if supported, also pending/temporary codes).
- Note the codes and preferably read the freeze frame if available.
4) Read freeze frame
- Select Freeze Frame.
- Review the "snapshot" of values when the fault was registered (if the car supports it).
5) Live data / datastream
- Select Data Stream.
- View current sensor data and parameters (varies per car).
6) I/M Readiness
- Select I/M Readiness to see the readiness status before inspection/emission control (where the function is supported).
7) O2 sensor test / Mode 6 / Mode 8
- Select the respective test (e.g., Oxygen Sensor Test, Mode 6, Mode 8).
- Note that availability and content depend on the car's system support.
8) Clear fault codes
- Once you have fixed the fault (or want to test), select Clear Codes.
- Confirm deletion. The V520 then clears engine-related fault codes (and may reset readiness to "not ready" on some vehicles).
9) Use Cloud Print (QR code)
- Go to the page you want to share (fault codes, freeze frame, or datastream).
- Press OK again to generate the QR code.
- Scan the QR code with your phone's camera/QR reader.
- Save or share the information as needed.
Tips & advice
-
Write down the fault codes before clearing them – it facilitates troubleshooting.
- If the light comes back immediately after clearing, the fault probably still exists.
- When buying a car: do a quick scan and check the freeze frame and readiness for a better overall picture.
- Use Cloud Print to send documentation to a workshop – saves time and reduces misunderstandings.

Disclaimer / Notes
- The V520 is an OBD2/EOBD tool and primarily concerns engine-related diagnostics (Check Engine).
- Functions and data volume may vary depending on car model, year, and ECU support.
- Clearing fault codes without addressing the cause may lead to the fault recurring.
